By age 6, Leah was DJing living room showcases for her little sister in Colorado and eventually graduated to whole-house parties in the Pacific Northwest in 2010. She has since DJ'd for fusion and blues events across the U.S. and Europe. When Leah DJs, she draws out the room's deepest groove, delivering sets that are luscious and heart-opening, transporting dancers from tender spacious moments to jam circle-inducing, celebratory throwdowns. Her favorite thing about DJing is curating a space of release by tapping into the emotional and somatic longings of the room—gently cracking open the party like a glowstick. Leah is a Seattle-based improviser and dance adventurer who has been dancing since she had someone to dance with. She fell in love with partner dancing over 10 years ago by dancing to salsa, tango, swing, and blues music. Her movement story is enriched early on by gymnastics and acrobatics, and later on by contemporary dance and solo improvisation practices. Leah believes social dance can fundamentally change our relationship to touch, to music, and to each other. She works, plays, and dreams with her dance family to develop a role-fluid, consent-focused, social justice-informed dance practice.

Tony dove into the world called Fusion in 2011. He has witnessed, shared, and collected so much musical magic from epic fusion exchanges/camp outs/parties, and he now travels between Sacramento and The Bay Area far too often in attempts to merge the dance communities, satisfy his dance addiction, and create one ginormous fusion family. If there is a dance floor present, expect at least part of Tony’s body to be on it. If he is spinning, expect to see him wiggling, making faces, and itching for your feels. If you hear strange sounds, there’s a solid chance they will be coming from him…

Upon stumbling upon fusion dance, Matthew immediately fell in love with the improvisational freedom available within it. His goal as a DJ is to bring emotionally evocative music to dancers and empower them to have whimsical, funky, and awe-inspiring dance conversations.

Tory has been passionate about music for a long long time, and in fusion she found a place to experience it in dance. DJing brings her the incredible, unique joy and honor of creating an experience that inspires dancers to connect and express. Her DJ journey started years ago amongst the beginnings of the fusion scene in Philadelphia, and now continues with regularly contributing to the local Seattle scene. She strives to bring something new with each set, but also loves to bring back an old personal favorite song now and then.

Kathleen discovered fusion in 2012 after building a background in blues, salsa, contra, and bhangra. She got hooked at the Las Vegas Fusion Exchange and became a DJ to recreate the excitement of that incredible weekend. For the past 5 years she's honed her craft spinning at blues and fusion events in NYC, where she runs an outdoor fusion dance in the summer. Kathleen enjoys exploring and cross-pollinating with other scenes, and she has played at DJX Fusion Weekend in Philly, Motley Hue in NYC, Dance Alchemy in Toronto, Menagerie Unchained in Atlanta, and Montreal InFused. She enjoys creating a mood for dancers to play with – whether playful or intense, sexy or soulful. She loves discovering new artists, and she can never resist a good cover.

Eleanor may be a new DJ, but she has been a passionate social dancer and listener in both Portland, OR and the CA bay area for the past 3 years, and has already broken serious ground playing at Portland Underground Exchange. She aims to give the floor what it wants, no shame, and it shows: her sets have been described as “freakin’ lit,” “absolute bangers” with “no maybes.” Her music spans across multiple genres, aiming to nourish the energy of the room and keep you in the groove all night long. With musician ears and dancer intuition, Eleanor is here to make magic happen.
